I didn’t play with dolls

I have overcome a lot of adversity in my life. The struggle is real and no one’s life is void of challenges. There is little doubt that your challenges shape the way you approach life, but they don’t determine the person you will become. That, my friends, is on you.

I did everything within my power to overcome my PBS afterschool special childhood and create a life I loved. After graduating with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Boston University (because if you’re going to be the first person in your family to graduate from college, you might as well go big), I channeled the little girl who played office in her grandmother’s library and embarked on my entrepreneurial journey.

As a real estate agent and broker, I worked to develop and refine my negotiation, market research, leasing, and finance skills. Over time , I parlayed my education and experience to grow a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate and went on to own and co-own several small businesses including an office executive suites, avocado grove in Ventura, California (yes, yours truly was a farmer), and a GolfTEC franchise. As an investor, I continue to focus on long-term income-generating businesses and investments to diversify my business portfolio.

Hardwired to help others

I wasn’t raised around people modeling the behavior of helping others. It wasn’t until I attended my first conference for women that I learned the value of having people in your life who support you unconditionally and always have your back. I went to the conference not knowing a single person but I connected with people who change my life forever. People who inspired me. Empowered me. Motivated me. Not only did I find my tribe who I never knew I needed. I realize my strong desire to serve others. I think we are hardwired to help each other but while it’s in our DNA I am a living example that sometimes those genetics still need to be ignited.

Since attending the first YPO International Conference for women in 2014, I have sought opportunities to advance people’s personal and professional growth which led me to co-chair YPO’s International Conference for Women in 2015, be a founding member of Dress for Success South Nevada’s Little Black Dress Club and serve as Chairwoman of their board, be on the host committee of 2020 Women On Boards Las Vegas, and launch my own company devoted to serving the personal development needs of others.

CEO of my life

As a facilitator, speaker, and accountability coach I am passionate about connecting, inspiring, and motivating others to get out of their own way, overcome challenges, and get shit done. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences as a business owner and mom of a very busy household via workshops, trainings, and other speaking opportunities. I love creating programs and content focused on personal development, accountability, and leadership that will help people become the CEO of their life!

While I love working (I did play office as a little girl after all), I take my jobs as Mom, Wife, and CEO of my home the most seriously. I’m blessed to live in fabulous Las Vegas, with my husband, two sons, and our Vizsla. My husband says it best, “Mom makes the trains run on time.” I run a tight ship – managing our family calendar, creating schedules, checklists and structured routines, meal planning, bedtimes and wake up times, and my least favorite – wi-fi shut offs.

I constantly work to instill in my boys the character traits of a great work ethic, honesty, empathy, generosity, gratefulness, tolerance, and kindness. As Frederick Douglass said, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Together as a family, we travel, serve our community, and embrace the fun and sometimes even the chaos that comes with truly living life, and create memories that will leave lasting impressions.
