We’ve made it to November which means companies, organizations, and individuals are one-by-one realizing the year is quickly coming to an end and they are recognizing the need to plan for next year. While planning is one of my favorite things to do (and more accurately my superpower), I’m keenly aware that not everyone possesses my innate planning skills or shares my love for goal setting, color coding, and calendar management. In fact, as human beings we tend to be reactive to our environment rather than proactive, and that means letting things sway you this way and that instead of taking control and steering the ship where you want to go. Sure, sitting back and being reactive may be comfortable, especially as we cruise into the holiday season, but being comfortable is never the way to reach new heights and achieve your goals. As tempting as it may be to avoid planning for 2022, just remember:
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” ― Benjamin Franklin

Don’t just roll into 2022 with a general idea of what you want to accomplish. Nail down your goals and action steps in the following categories before the ball drops on December 31st so you can take off full throttle in 2022 and soar all the way to success.

Ways to Jumpstart Your Goal Setting & Create Your 2022 Personal Strategic Plan
- Not sure where to start? Download my worksheet to help you brainstorm things you want to do, have, and be.
- Chunk it down to make it less daunting. Think about the categories of your life listed above. What is one thing that you want to accomplish in each of those categories in 2022?
- Be realistic about the time and energy you have available to devote to a goal. Consider holidays and other events you already have going on when plotting your course. Perhaps starting a new division of your company the same month as your family reunion, daughter’s birthday, and trip to Ireland isn’t the best idea.
- Don’t sell yourself short. Set higher goals than what you’ve already been able to achieve. and believe in your ability to achieve them. Otherwise, your relationships, career, bank account, and other aspects of your life will experience little growth.
